For my final project, I chose to photograph cars because they are something I am extremely passionate about. Using all of the skills that I have developed all throughout the semester, allowed me to produce some amazing photos in my series. Some of the challenges I faced while photographing, were the weather, time, and dealing with the drivers who I wanted to be a part of my series. Alot of the car enthusiasts that were apart of the series do not like to take their cars out in bad weather conditions such as rain and snow. The wind was also a huge factor, but I was able to capture the perfect steel wool photo before the wind picked up too much. The time was against me as well, as when I organized cars, it was last minute decision and we were in a rush to beat the weather conditions and the setting sun. Lastly, I had reached out to 15 drivers and was only able to get 5 of the drivers due to some issues, therefore I had to manage with what I had. The success I had was the light painting, which I feel are my two strongest images of the series. The steel wool was an amazing photo that I took and was able to capture, even though the conditions outside were not the best. In the second light painting photo, I was able to use a flashlight to create enough light to capture that photo when it was completely dark outside. As far as the other photos go, I was able to use my skills to really display the craftsmanship that goes into creating each vehicle. Focusing in on the details, the photos call attention to the little things that make the car and give it personality. Overall, I am extremely please with how my series came out.
